The Curriculum and Instruction Department is dedicated to providing a high-quality, engaging education for all students. We focus on developing a rigorous, inclusive curriculum that meets state and national standards, supports diverse learning needs, and promotes critical thinking. Our team works closely with teachers to implement effective teaching strategies, integrate technology, and offer ongoing professional development. Our goal is to ensure every student has the tools and support needed to succeed academically and thrive in their learning journey.

Dr. Lori Owens-Stranc, Assistant Superntendent, Director of Curriculm and Instruction

 

Dr. Lori Owens-Stranc is a dedicated and student-centered educational leader with a proven track record in curriculum development, instructional leadership, and school improvement. Currently serving as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for Sunnybrook District 171, Lori brings extensive experience in guiding staff, enhancing student achievement, and fostering innovative teaching practices. Throughout her career, she has successfully led turnaround schools, developed research-based instructional programs, and championed data-driven decision-making to support student growth. Lori holds multiple certifications in teaching, counseling, administration, and superintendency across Indiana and Illinois. With a strong commitment to equity, technology integration, and continuous professional development, she remains focused on creating positive, high-achieving learning environments that support both students and educators.
